Ep. 47 Jamie Hall (Musician, Producer, Tigercub)

Jamie Hall is a musician, producer and main man behind the British band Tigercub.

 

Perfume of Decay, their debut on Pearl Jam legend Stone Gossard’s Loosegroove records, their third record of nocturnal, hard-hitting rock, frontman Jamie Hall draws the curtains shut and embraces a moody, melancholic sound that’s every bit as cinematic as Hollywood itself.

 

It’s an album about counterpoint and opposites, stacked with songs that contrast overdriven guitars with whispered vocals, tight grooves with shoegazing swells of noise, sonic experimentation with sharp songwriting. For a band that’s always trafficked in drama and dynamics, The Perfume of Decay marks Tigercub’s strongest release to date.

 

Ep. 46 Harry Waters (pianist/songwriter and composer)

Harry Waters is a pianist/songwriter and composer. His piano style is influenced by the classical masters Vladimir Horowitz, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Arthur Rubinstein and New Orleans greats Dr John and Professor Longhair.

He toured in his father's band, Roger Waters, for 15 years, for The Wall and The Dark Side of the Moon tours, and most recently Desert Trip alongside The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Neil Young.

​He has performed with numerous artists including:

David Gilmour, Eddie Vedder, Tom Jones, Marianne Faithfull, Nick Cave, Ween, Ozric Tentacles

Isaac Delahaye is a Belgian guitarist and composer, best known as the lead guitarist of the Dutch symphonic metal band Epica.

A very pleasant and insightful conversation, giving perspective about all sides of his musical journey and well established career.

Ep. 42 Rob Chapman (Chapman Guitars/Clockwork Wolf)

Rob Chapman is an English musician, YouTuber, and the founder and co-owner of Chapman Guitars. Chapman is known for his popular instructional YouTube channel and as demonstrator of guitar equipment for Andertons Music Co.

He is the lead singer and a guitarist for the blues/Americana band Clockwork Wolf & Co, and was previously the frontman of rock band Dorje.

On this very personal conversation, Rob shares his personal story on how music has helped him overcome loss, tragedy and extremely difficult moments on his life.

Ep. 41 Raphael Miranda (Ego Kill Talent)

Raphael is a very accomplished musician, who plays bass and drums on the Brazilian band Ego Kill Talent.

Raphael started earlier in his life to play bass, guitar and eventually drums. Influenced by a lot of Jazz, MTV in the early 90's was what really shaped Raphael's drumming style and dreams.

Dreams that most certainly have been fulfilled in various ways, from venturing as festival organiser, organising huge festivals and hiring acts such as Faith No More, System of a Down, Stone Temple Pilots, Joss Stone, Snoop Dogg to name a few, to touring with the likes of Shinedown, Within Temptation and Metallica!

Ego Kill Talent has a very strong business structure with C3 Management, BMG, Warner Chappell and WME, 2 albums released worldwide and lots more to come!

Ep. 40 Stefan Helleblad (Within Temptation)

Stefan Helleblad, born 1978 on Gotland. Known as the guitarist of the Dutch band Within Temptation.

Also works with recording and mixing. Started his work in the field as a sound engineer at Sandkvie Studio at Micke Lyander.

In this context, in addition to Within Temptation, he has also worked with bands such as The Ark, Delain and Mooncoloured Hounds.

Stefan has been working on the production of Within Temptation albums since the band's third record "The Silent Force" 2004.

Ep. 39 Edgey Pires & Delila Paz (The Last Internationale)

The Last Internationale (TLI) is an American rock band formed by New York City guitarist Edgey Pires and vocalist Delila Paz.

The group is known for its socially-conscious lyrics and strong live performances.

Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello introduced the band to his bandmate, drummer Brad Wilk, who subsequently joined the band between 2014 and 2015. Their debut album, We Will Reign, was released on August 19, 2014 via Epic Records and was produced by Brendan O'Brien and Brendan Benson.

The band made their network television debut on August 27, 2014, playing "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Indian Blood" on the Late Show with David Letterman.

TLI toured with the likes of Robert Plant, The Who, Guns N Roses, Kiss and played the biggest European Festivals. 

I had the pleasure to chat with Edgey and Delila, in anticipation of both their new album "TLI3" release March 31st, coinciding with a mammoth 33-date headline tour of Europe and UK!

There was so much more I wanted to talk about, but we agreed we shall have a part 2 :)
